Dr. Alswaitti received his B.Eng. degree in Computer Engineering from the Islamic University of Gaza (IUG), Palestine, in 2010, and his M.Sc. degree in Electronic Systems Design Engineering from the Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) in 2011. He worked as a lecturer in Software Engineering and Information Technology Faculties at the University of Palestine and as an Instructor at the Educational Technology Centre at IUG. He pursued his PhD degree in Computational Intelligence under the Malaysian International Scholarship (MIS) scheme and worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at the Electrical and Electronic Engineering Department, USM, Malaysia.

Also, Dr. Alswaitti worked as an Assistant Professor at the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) where he was appointed as Final Year Project and Research Coordinator for the School. Currently, Dr. Alswaitti is a Research Associate at the Parallel Computing & Optimization research group (PCOG), SnT-Interdisciplinary Centre for Security, Reliability and Trust at the University of Luxembourg.

His current research interests include nature-inspired optimization-based data clustering techniques, feature selection, machine/deep learning applications, and pattern recognition techniques for medical images.

Recently, Dr. Alswaitti managed to publish several articles in top-tier journals in the AI field by securing research funds and collaborations with research institutions worldwide. Besides, he is a regular keynote speaker at academic and industry conferences and workshops and does voluntary work as a reviewer and associate editor for journals and language editing services.
