Manuel Combarro Simón received his B.Eng. degree in
Telecommunications and Electronics from the José Antonio
Echeverría Higher Polytechnic Institute, Havana, Cuba, in 2011,
and his M.Sc. degree in Computer Sciences from the Center for
Scientific Research and Higher Education at Ensenada (CICESE),
Ensenada, Mexico, in 2017.
From 2011 to 2015, he gained industrial experience working as a
telecommunication engineer in the radio and television Cuban
company operator, Radiocuba. He was part of the team in charge
of deploying Digital Terrestrial Television (DTT) in Cuba. From
2017 to 2021, he worked as a software engineer in CICESE and
Dexcom.
In 2021, he joined the Parallel Computing & Optimisation
Group at the University of Luxembourg (PCOG) as a doctoral
researcher. His research interests are discrete optimisation and
machine learning.
